We are a working coffee factory in the Western Ghats — a dry mill, a roastery, a cupping lab, a packing line, an export desk and an academy, all on one campus at Kinfra, Chundale. We need people at every one of those benches. Students, freshers, apprentices who simply love coffee, management trainees and experienced hands.
Interviews happen every Saturday. But there is one thing we ask before that — and it is not your CV.
Every SaturdayAn open interview day to spot bright talent — no agency, no long wait.
2 countriesWayanad in Kerala and West Mount Arabia in Dubai. The good ones travel.
Prerequisite · do this first
Don’t send us a CV.
Not yet, anyway. A CV tells us where you have been. It tells us nothing about whether you will still be curious about coffee in year three.
So before anything else, send us a short message on WhatsApp in your own words — your goals, and why you want to work with West Mount or in the coffee industry at all.
Six lines is enough. Type it yourself, in English or Malayalam, from your own head. We are not marking your grammar and we are not impressed by a paragraph a chatbot wrote for you — we read a lot of those and they all sound the same. Honest and plain beats polished and borrowed, every time.
Everyone who writes gets a reply. Those we want to meet get a Saturday slot, and then we will ask for the CV, the marksheets and the certificates.
Answer these six. Tap the button and the questions arrive pre-filled in your chat — just type under each one.
Your name and where you are from.Town or district is enough.
Which track and which function you want.Student, junior, apprentice, management trainee or full-time — and the bench: procurement, production, QC, roasting, packaging, marketing, sales, e-commerce, export.
Why coffee, and not something else? The real reason. “I need a job” is an honest answer and we will read it fairly — but tell us what pulled you to this one.
What do you want to be doing three years from now?Your goal, not ours. A roaster? Running a cafe? Exporting? Your own farm brand? Say it plainly.
What is the one thing you most want to learn here?Cupping, roast profiles, the machines, the export desk, selling to cafes — pick one.
Something you have actually done.A brew you worked on, a shop you ran, a project, a reel you shot, a crop you harvested. Anything real.
Do not attach a CV with this first message. It will not help you and it will not be read at this stage.
Cannot use WhatsApp? Email the same six answers to sales@westmountcaffe.com with CAREERS in the subject line.
The open interview day
Every Saturday, we look for talent.
Most coffee companies in India hire when a chair falls empty. We do it the other way round. Every Saturday we keep the interview room open, meet whoever turns up, and place the bright ones into the Ghats to Globe project — sometimes into a role we had not even written down yet.
The Saturday is for people who have already written to us. Bring your photo ID, your CV and your marksheets or certificates to that meeting — not to the first message. We have hired people on the strength of one good answer about why coffee tastes the way it does.
00Before the Saturday: you send us the six answers on WhatsApp — your goals and why coffee. We read every one and reply. What to write →
01A short conversation — who you are, what you have done, what you want to learn. No aptitude test, no group discussion. Now bring the CV.
02A walk through the plant. You see the dry mill, the roaster, the cupping table and the packing line before you decide anything.
03A cupping. You smell and taste three coffees with us. You do not need a trained palate — we are watching how you pay attention.
04A hands-on task fitted to the role: weigh a dose, read a roast curve, write a caption, pack a batch, pitch to a cafe owner.
05The outcome, told to you the same day wherever we can — an offer, a track, or an honest reason it is not a fit yet.
Walk-ins are welcome. A message on the recruitment number in advance means we keep a slot and the right person free to meet you.

We keep writing new roles because the project keeps growing — tourism and the factory visit programme, farmer training, sustainability and traceability, R&D on new products, retail, and the Dubai operation. If you are good at something we have not thought to advertise, bring it on a Saturday and argue your case.

What you get here
A factory is a better classroom.
You will not be handed a textbook and a desk. You will be handed a sample tray, a scale and a roast log, on a campus where the whole chain — cherry to cup to container — happens within a hundred metres.
Real equipment
Dry mill, roaster, cupping lab, packing line and espresso bar. You learn on production machines, not demo units.
Coffee Mastery Hub access
Our own course library comes with the job. Staff, trainees and apprentices study on it as part of the work.
Cupping skill
Everyone who works here learns to taste properly to CVA protocol. It is the one skill that travels with you for life.
The whole chain
Procurement, processing, roasting, QC, packing, selling and exporting. Few coffee jobs in India show you all of it.
A route to Dubai
West Mount Arabia is the Middle East arm. Strong performers get exposure to the export and Gulf side of the business.
Credit where it is due
Certificates, letters and a documented record of what you actually did — not a vague internship slip.
Stipend, salary and shift pattern depend on the track, the role and your experience, and are discussed openly at the interview. Ask us directly — we will give you a number, not a speech.
Marksheets or certificates, for students and freshers
Any work you are proud of: photos, reels, designs, a notebook
Questions for us. Bring at least two.
West Mount Coffee hires on merit. We welcome applicants of every background, and we do not charge any fee at any stage of recruitment — not for an interview, not for training, not for a placement. If anyone asks you for money in our name, call the number above.
Before you ask
Fair questions.
Do I need coffee experience to apply?
No. Most of our team arrived with none. For apprentice, student and junior tracks we train from zero — what we look for is attention, honesty and genuine curiosity about how coffee is grown, processed and tasted. Experience matters for the senior full-time roles, and even there we will take an excellent food-processing or sales professional over an indifferent coffee one.
Why will you not look at my CV first?
Because a CV is a list of what has already happened to you, and we are hiring for what happens next. A good CV cannot tell us whether you will still be curious about coffee in year three, and a thin CV has hidden some of the best people we ever hired. Six honest lines about your goals and why coffee tells us far more, and it takes you ten minutes instead of a week of formatting. Write it yourself — we read a great many chatbot-written paragraphs and they all sound identical. We do want the CV, with your certificates, but at the interview, not before it.
What if I write badly, or my English is weak?
It does not count against you. Write in Malayalam if that is easier — we read both. We are looking for what you actually think, not how neatly it is packaged. A plain, honest message in imperfect English beats a flawless one that says nothing.
Will I get a reply?
Yes. Everyone who sends the six answers gets a reply on the same number, whether or not we have a role for you right now. If we do not, we will tell you why and keep your message on file for when the next bench opens.
Do I need an appointment for the Saturday interview?
Yes — write to us first. Send the six answers on +91 90727 21001 and we will confirm your Saturday slot and keep the right department head free to meet you. We do still see walk-ins when the day allows, but people who have written are seen first and are never turned away. If you are travelling from outside Wayanad, message before you set out. What to write →
I am still studying. Can I work part-time or do an internship?
Yes. We run 4 to 24 week internships, weekend and holiday shifts, and project or dissertation support using real factory data. Tell us your college, your course, your available dates and what your department expects from the internship.
I want to change careers into coffee. Am I too old?
No. The apprentice track exists precisely for people changing direction — engineers, teachers, hospitality staff, defence veterans, home brewers. You will start at the bottom of a craft, which is a very different thing from starting at the bottom of a career.
Is the job in Wayanad, or can I work remotely?
Production, roasting, QC, packing, warehouse, procurement and academy roles are on-site at the Kinfra campus in Chundale, Wayanad — coffee cannot be roasted over a video call. Some marketing, content, design and e-commerce roles can be partly remote or hybrid after an on-site induction. Sales and procurement roles involve travel across Kerala and Karnataka.
What is the Ghats to Globe project?
It is how we describe the whole ambition: take coffee grown in the Western Ghats, process, roast and package it to a standard that stands up anywhere in the world, and put it on shelves and counters from Kerala to the Middle East and beyond. Every role on this page exists to move one link of that chain. You can read the full story here.
Will you pay for my certification?
For the right person on a QC or roasting track, yes — we sponsor professional certification and build the study time into the job. Our own Coffee Mastery Hub coursework comes free with every role from day one.
Do you charge any fee for training or placement?
Never. No fee for an application, an interview, training, uniform or placement — at any stage, through any person. If anyone asks you to pay in West Mount Coffee's name, please report it on the recruitment number immediately.
